Based in Grangemouth, we also provide ship’s agency services at Leith, Methil, Rosyth and other ports in the Forth Estuary, as well as Glasgow and Clyde ports.
We have a wealth of experience in handling all kinds of dry cargo vessels and cargoes. We enjoy excellent working relationships with the local Port Authorities and Stevedores which can enhance handling and turnaround time. Our team are well know to all and contactable 24 hours a day. Our ‘can do’ attitude ensures that vessel and crew are served quickly and efficiently to meet all husbandry requirements in port or at anchor.
The principal ports on the Forth Estuary are owned and operated by Forth Ports Plc.
The navigation services for the River Forth and also for Dundee on the River Tay, are combined and operated under FORTH & TAY NAVIGATION SERVICE. Those operations are now located in Grangemouth.

Inbound vessels should give Forth Navigation at least 24 hours notice of their ETA at the Eastern Limits or as soon as possible after departure from their previous port if the passage time is less than 24 hours. Any adjustment of the ETA of more than 2 hours should be reported in the same way. Contact Forth Navigation again on VHF 71 when crossing the Eastern Limits and advise ETA at the Pilot Boarding Position, or anchorage.
Pilotage services are provided by Forth Pilots.

Pilotage is compulsory for vessels calling at Hound Point, Grangemouth, Leith, Methil, Rosyth, Braefoot Bay and Burntisland.
Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels, distance from Pilot Boarding Position, (Narrow Deep Buoy) to Leith Lock is approx. 8 miles.
Vessels taking a pilot should contact Forth Pilots, giving 24 hours, 12 hours and 2 hours notice of their ETA at the boarding position.

All vessels must have prepared a Pilotage Passage Plan before arrival at the boarding position, which can then be discussed and agreed with the Pilot on boarding.
All vessels must have corrected up to date charts , must be latest editions.
